Blue Hour Photo Workshops

Photography is a constant travel to new places

Touring Malawi

Earlier this month the photographer Otto von Münchow and writer Øystein Mikalsen were touring the small African country Malawi. Malawi is one of the poorest countries on the African continent, but immensely beautiful and with a extremely friendly and accommodating population. During the almost two weeks the two journalist travelled around in Malawi they posted daily articles on their blog Øystein & Otto’s Blog. Here is the story about the bar behind bars in Devil Street, the story about the divers of Lake Malawi that catches aquarium fish to be exported to all over the world, the story of the young boy in the quarry who is turning rocks into gravel – by hand, and many other touching stories. Part of the trip was also to prepare for a workshop the two of them are teaching in the end of April, which this site will write more about when it’s in progress. In the meantime have a look their blog and the many glimpses they give of Malawi there.
